Poker TournyKit is intended to make the setup of your home poker tournaments easier. To use Poker TournyKit to setup a game follow the steps below:
- Tap on the Blinds Calculator Tab
- Enter the desired settings for your game
- Tap on calculate blinds button
- Verify that the schedule looks good
- Tap on the Blinds Timer tab and click start
- Play Poker! You will receive an alert every time the blind levels increase.
That's it!
The Blinds Calculator has the following inputs:
- Number Of Players: enter the number of players that you will be playing in your tournament.
- Smallest Chip: enter the smallest chip size that you will be playing with. This is important to calculate blinds that work with the chips available.
- Starting Stack: This is the number of chips that each player will start with.
- Blind Length: This is the desired time duration for each blind level. Setting this will set game length back to automatic.
- Game Length: This is the desired time duration for the entire game. Setting this will set blind length back to automatic.
To set these values simply click on the input value you would like to change, adjust the value and then return back to the main calculator interface.
The Blinds Timer has the following controls:
- Previous Blind Level : This is the button at the top left of you screen. It will show either 'n/a' if you are currently at the first blind level. Or it will show the blind level that will be made active if you were to press this button.
- Next Blind Level : This is the button at the top right of your screen. It will show 'n/a' if you are at the last blind level in the schedule, but if you aren't then it will show the blind level that will be made active if you press this button.
-
Reset Level : Pressing this button will reset the current blind level back to the beginning of the current level.
-
Reset Game : Pressing this button will reset the current schedule back to the very beginning as if you were to starting the game from the beginning.
-
Start/Stop Timer : Pressing this button will alternately start, or stop, the timer. Useful for when you wish to take a break from your game.
Poker TournyKit is a simple application for helping you setup and run your own small poker tournaments. The overall problem we were trying to solve: a group of us play poker on a quarterly basis. We play so infrequently that noone can ever remember how to setup a tournament what the blinds should be etc. Sometimes we make the blinds too aggressive and noone has a good time, other times we make them too soft and the game runs all night long. (This is worse than them being too aggressive!). So we sat down and wrote this application to help us with setting up our own home poker tournaments, hopefully you find it useful as well!
